Comments:
Overall, not a strong category, the winners clearly stood out above the rest.
First captured the tension and great expressions. The photographer also had great access to the scene.
Second was a nice moment that showed the drama of the situation for this person. A very informative caption helped describe the scene.
Third place showed a familiar scene with a new angle by adding the observer from the house. Nice job waiting it out for something different.

Comments:
There were a lot of nice images to choose from in this category. The winners stood out for their peak action and nice light.
First was the clear standout. Nice clean background and peak action. Great job getting the low angle.
Second was a slightly different angle than many overhead shots with nice peak action and good light.
Third could have placed higher with a tighter crop, but a great moment with the crowd’s reaction.

Comments:
There were no real standouts for first place in this category, but some strong images.
First had a nice use of space, incorporating the architecture with peak action.
Second was a nice angle on what could have been a tough assignment by adding the human element to a house moving.
Third was a well-executed photo, and the symmetry of the seagull and eagle was a new angle on the flying bird photo. The image had a great clean background and was nice and sharp.

Comments:
The winners of this category stood out, but there were many strong entries.
First was a collection of great images, and had a nice variety of angles and scenes. The project showed an intimacy with the subject and it was nice to be able to see the entire project with the online show, which was much stronger than the print version.
Second place was a unique idea that was well executed. The interesting images were shown off by a nice page design.
Third place was a nice variety of images. Each one had a unique perspective and all had nice lighting.

Comments:
This was the strongest category of all, and there were many contenders for places. First place stood out because of the simple composition combined with great pose and lighting made it a great image that was elegant and not overdone.
Second was an image that still conveyed a powerful message despite the fact that it was played poorly. Nice simple lighting and great pose with the hand.
Third had beautiful color and light, and was a great use of the spacee.
Honorable mention was a unique idea for a wrestling portrait, with nice light and composition.

Comments:
No entry clearly stood out in this category, but the winners had the best execution of an idea.
First place was a well-executed idea with nice lighting and unobtrusive design elements. It was effective without being overdone.
Second place was a humorous idea and a great expression on the subject.
Third had great use of color and a simple composition that made the colors stand out.
